Abigail's Challenge - 52 things for 2025

This year, our Business Development Manager, Abigail, decided she wanted to challenge herself and try new things so we set her the challenge of trying 52 new things during 2025.

See how she is getting on, and come back soon for more updates.

Wreck Diving

Abigail kicked off her challenge in style on a weekend trip to Malta. Whilst there she went on a diving exhibition to The X127 World War II Submarine.

The X127 was built in England for the British Royal Navy in 1915 and used as a landing craft. It was then converted into a water carrier and served in Malta. During World War II it was recommissioned to the Royal Navy to supply fuel to the submarines in Malta and was hit by a bomb during a German air raid and sank in March 1942.

Abigail loved her first wreck dive, saying it was very relaxing and great fun. Her highlights were seeing an octopus and looking into the submarine and to see the remains.

Squash

A challenge closer to home than her last one! This time Abigail decided to try Squash, so along with her friend, Tamsin, they headed to the squash courts for a game. (They are planning on trying all racquet sports, so we're sure to see more racquet sport photos added to this blog).

Squash was invented by students at Harrow School in 1830. The name "Squash" comes from the orginal rubber balls being squashed against the walls. A game of squash can burn up to 1,000 calories per hour, making it a great way to exercise.

Abigail and Tamsin really enjoyed their first game of squash and gave it a solid 9 out of 10. Actually, they had a ball!

Visiting Bucharest

Abigail had another exiciting weekend away to add to her 52 new things! This time she visited Bucharest in Romania. As this was her first visit to Bucharest, she was excited to visit the Palace of Parliament, the Van Gogh cafe and the Cărturești Carusel.

The Palace of Parliament is the second largest administrative building in the world, after the Pentagon and the Cărturești Carusel is a 6 story 19th century bookstore which used to be a bank and is often called the Carousel of Light.

Abigail travelled with her sister and a friend and they all enjoyed a fantastic weekend away, although the late flight home on the Sunday wasn't so good!
