Successful Community Grant cause

Prestbury St Mary's PTFA

The Parents', Teachers' and Friends' Association is a registered charity which aims to raise funds for the benefit of Prestbury St Mary's school. Parents of children in the school are automatically members of the Association.

The PTFA arrange school discos, Pancake Flips, bake sales, termly Movie Magic screenings and a highly successful summer event.

With the support of everyone at the school: parents, staff and children alike, they are raising money to contribute to the school.

Their grant application

When applying for one of our Community Grants, Prestbury St Mary's PTFA told us that the cost of school trips has increased over the past few years, especially the cost of coaches, this money from the grant could help them to keep these costs down for parents and ensure trips are able to go ahead.

What they spent their grant on

Kirsty O'Brien, Chair of Prestbury St Mary's PTFA told us how they used the funds from their £250 unrestricted Community Grant.

“We have spent the money on some wonderful toys for the children to use at lunchtimes. We have dressing up, large construction shapes, a bubble machine, stilts, hula hoops, general toys and books. It has literally improved lunchtimes so much.

On behalf of the school, the PTFA and the children thank you so much.
