Helping More Cats Through Sustainable Funding

Our GivingLottery offers charities a simple way to raise regular funding through weekly lottery ticket sales. Supporters have the opportunity to win cash prizes up to £25,000 while helping the causes they care about most.

For charities, it creates a dependable source of unrestricted income that can be used wherever it is needed most.

Just a few months after joining our GivingLottery, Tŷ-Nant Cat Sanctuary has already attracted 29 supporters and is on track to raise more than £1,000 this year.

While that figure may seem modest, sustainable funding can make a significant difference for charities facing ongoing operational costs.

For Tŷ-Nant Cat Sanctuary, unrestricted funding plays an important role in helping meet the costs of caring for rescued cats.

Shauna from Tŷ-Nant Cat Sanctuary explains:

"GivingLottery has been a fantastic way for our supporters to donate to us while also having the chance to win something themselves. It’s great to be able to offer different ways for people to support the sanctuary. The funds raised through GivingLottery help towards our veterinary bills, which average around £5,000 each month.

We are coming up to our 10th year as a registered charity, and during that time we’ve been incredibly fortunate to have built a strong and loyal supporter base. We think one of the most important aspects of engagement is sharing honest updates, both the positives and the challenges, so that supporters can clearly see where their donations are going and understand the level of work involved in running the sanctuary."

Those monthly veterinary costs highlight the reality faced by many animal welfare charities. Every cat that comes through the sanctuary's doors may require health checks, vaccinations, treatment, medication or ongoing care before they are ready to find a new home.

Having access to unrestricted funding means the charity can respond to these needs quickly and effectively, without having to restrict spending to specific projects or appeals.
