Run for us in the 2026 London Marathon

TheGivingMachine's mission is to provide funding opportunities for all good causes to ensure their sustainable future. To help us continue offering this service, we are looking for amazing people to run the 2026 London Marathon.

The London Marathon has raised over £1 billion for charity so far and for the last 12 consecutive years, has been recognised as the world's largest one day annual fundraising event. In 2024, £73.5 million was raised for charity.

In 2024, there were 840,000+ applications and 56,314 runners completing the London Marathon, which is the most popular marathon in the world! Do you want to be part of this in 2026?

Whether you're a novice or experienced runner the 16 week training plan will make sure you are prepared to run the 26.2 miles. With a beautiful route which includes iconic landmarks and buildings it's not just the cheering which will get you over the finish line!

To run for us, we ask that you commit to raising a minimum of £2,000 in sponsorship. In return we will offer encouragement and support, including training and fundraising tips, as well as a branded top to wear on marathon day.

Terms & Conditions - London Marathon Charity Runners

Thank you for your interest in running the London Marathon to raise funds for TheGivingMachine. By submitting an application for a charity place, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:

1. Eligibility

Applicants must be aged 18 or over on the day of the London Marathon.
Applicants must complete TheGivingMachine’s application form truthfully and fully.
Successful applicants will be selected at random.

2. Fundraising Commitment

If allocated a charity place by TheGivingMachine, you agree to:
- Raise a minimum of £2,000 (excluding Gift Aid).
- Create a fundraising page and begin fundraising within 28 days of being offered a place.
If you are unable to meet the minimum fundraising target, TheGivingMachine reserves the right to withdraw your place or charge the difference.

3. Use of Charity Place

Your charity place is non-transferable and must not be sold or given to anyone else.
You must not use the place to raise funds for any organisation other than TheGivingMachine.

4. Health & Safety

Participation in the London Marathon is physically demanding. You confirm that:
- You are medically fit to take part.
- You will consult a healthcare professional if unsure about your fitness to run.
- You take part at your own risk, and TheGivingMachine accepts no liability for injury or loss resulting from participation.

5. Withdrawal Policy

If you need to withdraw:
- Inform TheGivingMachine in writing as soon as possible.
- You may be offered a deferral or alternative options, subject to London Marathon and charity policies.
- You remain liable for any funds already raised and must return all unused materials.

6. Promotional Use

You agree that any photos, videos or written content you share or that are taken during the event may be used by TheGivingMachine for promotional purposes (e.g. website, social media, press releases), unless you request otherwise in writing.

7. Conduct

As a charity ambassador, you agree to represent TheGivingMachine positively.
You must comply with the event organiser’s rules, including any COVID-19 or safety guidance in place.

8. Data Protection

TheGivingMachine will store and process your data in line with our Privacy Policy.
Your data will only be used for administering your marathon place and related charity communications.
